RGNUL National Moot Court Competition on Consumer Protection Laws, 2026

The RGNUL National Moot Court Competition on Consumer Protection Laws, 2026, organized from 20th February, 2026 to 21st February, 2026 by the Centre for Competition and Consumer Protection Law (CCCPL) in collaboration with the RGNUL Moot Court Committee and sponsored by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Government of India, concluded after two days of exceptional advocacy and rigorous constitutional debate.

After compelling final rounds, University School of Law and Legal Studies emerged as the Winners of the RGNUL National Moot Court Competition on Consumer Protection Laws, 2026, a testament to their outstanding advocacy and courtroom excellence.

Freshers' Advertisement Analysis Competition

The Advertisement Analysis Competition invited students from Batch of 2030 to legally examine misleading advertisements and uncover their impact on consumers and markets. Participants selected a real or illustrative ad, analysed how it deceives the public, and presented a detailed legal evaluation. The competition required application of various laws, including but not limited to, the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, Advertising Standards Council of India, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, or Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India. Through this competition, the Centre aims to build awareness of unfair trade practices while fostering critical legal thinking and ethical responsibility.

Two-Day Seminar on 75 Years of Supreme Court of India

RGNUL organised the Two-Day Seminar on 75 Years of the Supreme Court of India on the occasion of the Supreme Court of India's 75th anniversary and World IP Day on April 26-27, 2025. The Seminar aimed to reflect on the transformative journey of the Supreme Court of India in shaping the legal, political, and social fabric of the country. The event provided a platform for scholars, academicians, and practitioners to deliberate on the future trajectory of the Supreme Court in maintaining its role as the guardian of constitutional values and a catalyst for progressive change.

1st – 3rd March, 2025Hybrid sessions for State Consumer Commissions

Capacity Building Programme

The Three-Day Capacity-Building Program for the members of the District Consumer Commissions of Punjab, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh, held from 1st to 3rd March 2025, successfully concluded. Designed to strengthen participants' administrative and judicial competencies, the program fostered academic discussions on emerging issues in consumer law.

Distinguished legal luminaries, including Hon'ble Justice A.P. Sahi, President of the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission; Hon'ble Mrs. Justice Daya Chaudhary, President of the Punjab State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission; and Hon'ble Mr. Justice Raj Shekhar Attri, President of the Chandigarh State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, graced the event.

Sponsored by the Department of Consumer Affairs under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Government of India, the program featured 10 interactive sessions covering diverse aspects of consumer protection laws, ensuring a comprehensive and engaging learning experience for all participants.
